Acid Sulfate Soil (ASS) Assessment

Acid sulfate soils (ASS) are soils and sediments containing iron sulfides. When ASS exposed to air by excavation, disturbance or dewatering, the sulfide in these soils react with oxygen producing sulpuric acid which can causing major environmental harm.

OB Geotechnics will address and manage your particular Acid Sulfate Soil as per council requirement. Our analysis is based on the criteria described in the Acid Sulfate Soil Manual (NSW ASSMAC 1998).
